Fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi this afternoon (February 19) in which a 44-year-old man was killed.

     At about 4.40pm, a motorcycle driven by the 44-year-old man was traveling along Cheung Tsing Tunnel towards Kowloon. When reaching near the exit of the tunnel, it reportedly lost control before it, rammed into a kerb and turned onto its side.

     The driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was certified dead at 5.52pm. Meanwhile, a 42-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle also sustained injuries to her right arm and right leg, and was sent to hospital for medical treatment.

     Investigations will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South.
