The Government today (February 17) announced that the Chief Executive had appointed Mr David Sun Tak-kei as Chairman of the Council of the City University of Hong Kong (CityU) with effect from April 1 this year to December 31, 2013.
The Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, welcomed Mr Sun's appointment.
"Mr Sun has devoted himself to serving the community, including the tertiary education sector, and is widely recognised for his vision and distinguished leadership. I am confident that CityU will continue to scale new heights with Mr Sun at the helm," Mr Suen said.
Mr Suen also paid tribute to Mr Leung Chun-ying, the former Chairman of the CityU Council, for his contribution to the development of CityU during his chairmanship.
