SEN to visit Beijing

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau, departed for Beijing this morning (February 16) on a two-day visit.

     During his stay in Beijing, Mr Yau will visit various ministries and departments to exchange views covering four main topics - environmental protection, climate change strategy, transport emissions reduction measures and conservation.

     On his arrival in Beijing today, Mr Yau will first call on the Ministry of Land and Resources to express his gratitude for its support and assistance in helping Hong Kong Geopark gain recognition as Hong Kong Global Geopark of China. He will later visit the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

     He will pay a visit to the Ministry of Transport tomorrow morning (February 17) and meet officials of the National Development and Reform Commission in the afternoon.

     Mr Yau will return to Hong Kong after concluding the visit tomorrow evening.
