Police appeal for witnesses to fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom

     Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom on January 14 in which an 80-year-old man died.

     At about 4.30pm on that day, a private car driven by a 22-year-old man was travelling along northbound Yuk Yat Street. When turning left into Kwei Chow Street, it reportedly knocked down the 80-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was later certified dead at 11.31am on January 17.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and released on bail pending further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, are underway.
