Hospital Authority Board visit to Ministry of Health

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     A delegation of the Hospital Authority (HA) Board, led by the Chairman, Mr Anthony Wu, is paying the first official visit to the Ministry of Health in Beijing from today (February 8) to February 10 upon the invitation of the Ministry. During the visit, the delegation and the Mainland health authorities will discuss the latest developments of healthcare systems and also discuss future co-operation. In particular, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed on the collaboration of management training for healthcare executives.

     The HA Board Members delegation, headed by Mr Wu, comprises the Director of Health, Dr Lam Ping-yan; the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin; Professor Fok Tai-fai; Dr Joseph Lee Kok-long; Mr David Lie Tai-chong; Dr Donald Li Kwok-tung; Ms Lau Ka-shi; Mr Chan Bing-woon; Ms Quince Chong Wai-yan; and Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee.

     According to the visit itinerary, the delegation will meet with the Ministry of Health, the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the State Food and Drug Administration, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau and the Beijing Hospital Authority to discuss health-related issues.  Also, the delegation will pay a visit to a hospital and meet with the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.

     The delegation will conclude the visit in Beijing and return to Hong Kong on February 10.
