FEHD orders Mong Kok siu mei and lo mei shop to suspend business for two weeks
********************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a siu mei and lo mei shop in Mong Kok to suspend business for 14 days.

The operator repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation by allowing open food to be stored improperly in his premises.

The siu mei and lo mei shop, located at Shop G on the ground floor of On May Mansion at 6A-6C Argyle Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (February 7) to February 20.

"In July and September last year, two convictions on the breach were recorded against the food establishment," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $4,000 was levied by the court and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," he added.

The licensee of the food premises also had a record of two convictions for the same offence in March and July last year. A fine of $3,000 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days in October last year.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
