Man charged with misleading police officers

     Police today (February 5) charged a 37-year-old expatriate man with one count of misleading police officers.¡@The man was suspected to have made a hoax robbery report in Happy Valley on February 2.

     At about 4.10pm on that day, Police received a report that an expatriate man was found injured on Tung Lo Wan Road. Police officers located the man who claimed that he was attacked and robbed of $2,000 by two men with a knife on Tin Hau Temple Road. A fruit knife with bloodstains was found in the vicinity.

     District Crime Squad of Wan Chai took over the case for further investigations. It was discovered that the man had made a false report. The man was then arrested for misleading police officers.

     He was charged with one count of misleading police officers and will appear in Eastern Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (February 6).
