Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in which a 72-year-old woman was killed in Mong Kok this afternoon (February 2).

     About 2.25pm, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 31-year-old man was travelling Kok Cheung Street towards Tsim Sha Tsui. When approaching the junction with Fuk Chak Street, it reportedly knocked down the 72-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital where she was subsequently certified dead at 2.42pm.

     Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
