Fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Castle Peak last night (January 20) in which a 17-year-old man died.

     At about10.40 pm, the 17-year-old man was riding a bicycle along northbound Nim Wan Road. When reaching West New Territories Landfill, the bicycle reportedly lost control and hit a gate bar at the vehicular access of the landfill.

     Sustaining serious head and chest injuries, the man was taken to the Tuen Mun Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.29 pm.

     Investigations by the Accident Investigation Team, Traffic New Territories North, are under way.

     Anyone who saw the accident or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3661 3800.
