Top Chinese dance choreographers to gather for talent showcase

     Co-presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and City Contemporary Dance Company, "China Dance Forward" 2012 will be staged in February.

     "China Dance Forward" provides a platform for aspiring choreographers from the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong to present their works and exchange ideas. Through an open call, the organisers have selected top next-generation dance talents to meet and perform in Hong Kong. Hailing from Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Xian, Nanjing, Zhengzhou and Changde, the choreographers will exhibit their explorations of the theme "Chinese dance in a contemporary context" in their works.

     "China Dance Forward" 2012, co-presented by City Contemporary Dance Company, will be staged at 8pm on February 24 and 25 (Friday and Saturday) at the Theatre, Sheung Wan Civic Centre. Tickets priced at $200 and $140 are available from January 24 onwards at all URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients. (Limited tickets for CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis.) Please refer to the website and programme leaflets for details of the special booking discount scheme.
