The Leisure and Cultural Services Department invites interested individuals and subvented non-governmental organisations to submit applications from tomorrow (January 16) for operation of the latest round of Arts Corner stalls at Victoria Park.

The Arts Corner (Phase XIII) will be held at the South Pavilion Plaza at Victoria Park from 10am to 6pm on Sundays and public holidays from April 1, 2012, to March 31, 2013. Stall operation will be suspended when major events are held in the park.

Visitors to the park can appreciate artistic works in a relaxing environment, making their visit more pleasurable.

The Arts Corner will feature 36 stalls selling handicrafts and artworks ranging from pottery, straw-weaving work, dough models, paper craftwork and carving work to accessories, floral artwork, sand paintings, cloth artwork and clay work. Services such as photography, painting, calligraphy, silhouette cutting and sketching or caricature will also be provided.

Application forms for operating the stalls will be available from tomorrow at the Victoria Park Management Office at 1 Hing Fat Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, and the Eastern District Leisure Services Office on 3/F, Quarry Bay Municipal Services Building, 38 Quarry Bay Street, Hong Kong. The forms can also be downloaded from the website of Victoria Park (www.lcsd.gov.hk/parks/vp/en/help.php).

Successful applicants are required to pay a registration fee of $100 and a security deposit of $1,000 for each stall. The security deposit will be forfeited if the stall is operated for less than 70% of the total time stipulated in the contract or if the contract is terminated due to failure of the stall operator to comply with the contract terms.
