Murder in Wong Tai Sin

     Police today (January 14) arrested a 38-year-old man suspected to have killed his 75-year-old father at their residence in Wong Tai Sin.

     At about 0.15am, Police received a report that a man was found injured inside a flat at Lung Yat House of Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate.

     Police arrived at the scene and located the 75-year-old man lying unconscious in the living room.

     Sustaining injuries to his head, the man was certified dead by ambulancemen. A folding chair, which was suspected to be the weapon used in the case, was found in the flat.

     After investigation, his 38-year-old son was believed to be in connection with the case and was arrested at the scene. He was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for examinations and is still being detained for further enquiry.

     A post-mortem examination will be conducted on the deceased to ascertain the cause of his death.

     Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Wong Tai Sin are under way.
