Class 7A Drama Group to perform at Railway Museum
*************************************************

Class 7A Drama Group will stage its latest production, "Our Memorable Moment", at the Hong Kong Railway Museum in late February and early March, giving the audience the chance to travel back in time and witness the sights and sounds of our local railways and the people who travelled on them.

Hong Kong's railways have seen a century of momentous change. A hundred years ago, just before the Kowloon-Canton Railway began operation, zealous supporters of the revolt that was to become the 1911 Revolution sought every means to send supplies back to their comrades in China. Forty years ago, Hong Kong people returning by rail to see poor relatives in the Mainland took with them as many items as they could. They even wore multiple layers of clothing, intending to return to Hong Kong with nothing but the shirts on their backs. Nowadays it is the Mainlanders who flock to Hong Kong, an armada of shoppers armed with cash, credit cards and shopping lists.

What kind of stories are told on the train now? How have they changed? Visit once again the railroad that connects the Mainland and Hong Kong. Take a seat in the carriages and listen carefully. Experience the joys, sorrows, successes and failures of four generations through a time tunnel of 100 years. Crowds come and go, but once the train's rumble has vanished, what memories will linger?

"Our Memorable Moment" is written by Pak Li and directed by Char Kwok-lam. A talented cast includes Chau Ka-fai, Sam Wong, Angle Kwok, Pun Kim-chau and Mavis Mung.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Our Memorable Moment" will be performed in Cantonese at 8.15pm from February 24 to 26 (Friday to Sunday) and from March 2 to 4 (Friday to Sunday) at the Hong Kong Railway Museum. Tickets priced at $200 are now available at URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients. (Limited tickets for full-time students and CSSA recipients are available on a first-come, first-served basis.) Group booking discounts and free shuttle bus services from MTR Tai Po Market Station to the performing venue for ticket holders are also available. Please refer to the programme leaflet for further details.

Members of the audience should note that part of the programme will be conducted in the open air where no seating is available. They will also need to follow the actors to various locations inside the museum as the storyline dictates. Since access to the historical coaches is by steps only, wheelchair users will find it inconvenient for on-site participation in the play.
