The Labour Department will hold a recruitment and training expo at Southorn Stadium, Wan Chai, on January 11 (Wednesday).

Fifty organisations will participate in the expo. Forty-five organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on the day of the event. They mainly come from the retail, catering and property management industries. They seek to fill more than 3,300 vacancies.

Job seekers wanting to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).

About 71 per cent of the jobs on offer are full-time. The majority of the jobs offer a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. About 97 per cent of these jobs require a Secondary Five educational level or below. Around 70 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant experience.

In addition, five training organisations will participate in the expo. These organisations will introduce training courses from various industries, such as catering, domestic services, Chinese healthcare, healthcare services and tourism, to expo visitors.

Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration of job seekers.

The expo will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at 1/F, 111 Johnston Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong (MTR Wan Chai Station Exit A3). Admission is free.
