Cantonese opera singers to perform in February and March

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present three Cantonese opera songs concerts in February and March. Performing at the concerts are the Cantonese opera artists Cheung Yim-hung, Chow Chung-nga, Tang Siu-wai, Fung Kwai-sum, To Ho-wan and Yip Wai-fun.

     This enchanting programme also includes instrumental spirit music performed by veteran musicians Wong Hon-keung, Szeto Siu, To Wing, Lee Shu-kwai, Tse Tsz-ming and others, including "Lovers' Reunion at the Milky Way", "A Hungry Horse Shaking Its Bells", "Lion Dance", "Thunder in a Drought", "Butterflies Among the Flowers", "The Toll of the Temple Bells", "Nostalgia", "Beautiful Water Lily on a Silver Lake", "Rain Lashing on the Plantains", "Pacing Horses" and "Joyous Celebrations". All shows start at 7.30pm. Details of the performances are as follows:

March 1 (Thursday)

Yip Wai-fun - "The Spring River Flows East"

     Tickets for "From the Songstress Stage: Cantonese Operatic Songs & Spirit Music Concert", priced from $100 to $180, are available at all URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for full-time students and CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis).
