31 building plans approved in November

     The Buildings Department approved 31 building plans in November, with 13 on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, 10 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, 14 were for commercial developments, three were for factory and industrial development, and four were for community services development.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 10 building projects that, when completed, will provide 125 635 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1 077 units, and 99 501 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for nine building projects.

     The department also issued 11 occupation permits, with three on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 19 202 square metres, involving 161 units, and 19 797 square metres for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in November totalled about $0.8 billion.

     In addition, 20 demolition consents involving 20 building structures were issued.

     The department received 3 109 complaints about unauthorised building works in November, and issued 1 191 removal orders for unauthorised works.
