From self-centred teens to selfless cadets
******************************************

Many parents have a difficult time teaching their children to be independent and caring. How can young people be convinced to switch off their online devices and switch on their community service? The Auxiliary Medical Service Cadet Corps may have the answer.

The corps was set up in April to encourage young people aged 12 to 17 to develop practical skills and leadership through group activities and training, and help them build self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, self-discipline and a sense of community.

Cadet Training School Commandant Chiu Cheung-sing and two cadets share their corps experiences in a feature that appeared on news.gov.hk in text and video format today (December 27).
