Inmate attacks staff member at Cape Collinson Correctional Institution

A staff member at Cape Collinson Correctional Institution (CCCI) was attacked by an inmate today (December 22).
At around 7am today, the inmate suddenly pushed an Assistant Officer II (AOII) forcefully and punched his right ear when he was being cautioned for misdeeds.
He attempted to attack the AOII again and another officer warned him to stop but was in vain. He was subsequently pressed on the ground and subdued.
During the incident, the AOII sustained bruise over his right ear. The case was reported to the Police.
The 16-year-old inmate was admitted to CCCI in November this year on a charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
