CSSA caseload for November

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in November showed a drop of 1 204 cases compared to October, representing a decrease of 0.4 per cent, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (December 21).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of November stood at 277 658 (see attached table), with a total of 445 391 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, unemployment and low-earning cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 1.9 per cent to 27 241 and 12 525 cases respectively, while single parent cases showed a decrease of 0.6 per cent to 33 110 cases.

     Permanent disability cases recorded a decrease of 0.4 per cent to 18 476 cases and old age cases also showed a decrease of 0.1 per cent to 153 953 cases.

     Ill-health cases remained steady at 25 228 cases.
