On Christmas Day (December 25), Boxing Day (December 26) and New Year's Day (January 1), all public and mobile libraries and students' study rooms will be closed.

On December 27 and January 2, normal public holiday opening hours will apply at most public libraries, except at those libraries that are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The online and telephone library services will be suspended from 9pm on December 23 to 9am on December 28 to facilitate the implementation of a new and upgraded library computer system by the end of this month. Some of the counter services including the payment and borrower's registration services will be suspended on December 24 and 27. Library users who wish to collect library items on these two days will be required to produce their reservation notices at the library counters. Borrowing and returning services will not be affected.
