The exhibition catalogue "Road to China's 1911 Revolution" published by the Hong Kong Museum of History has been well received by the public. More than 1 200 copies of the catalogue that were put on sale were sold within three months of them being put on shelves in August. To meet public demand, an additional 1 500 copies have been printed and made available for sale. Interested parties should not miss this new opportunity.
Produced by the Hong Kong Museum of History, the catalogue reviews the invaluable artefacts and historical records shown in the exhibition "Centenary of China's 1911 Revolution" held at the museum between March and May this year. The publication offers a comprehensive account of the relationship between Hong Kong and the 1911 Revolution, the campaigns of the reformist and revolutionary camps to save China, the Late Qing Reform in the last decade of the Qing dynasty and the major incidents that occurred between the Wuchang Uprising and the founding of the Republic of China. The publication also contains more than 300 historical photographs and about 100 copies of woodblock prints, pictorial newspapers and other invaluable artefacts which were shown in the exhibition.
The catalogue, with 176 pages and priced at $80, is now available at the Gift Shop of the Hong Kong Museum of History.
The Hong Kong Museum of History is located at 100 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. It opens from 10am to 6pm on Mondays to Saturdays and from 10am to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays. On Christmas Eve and Chinese New Year's Eve, the museum will open at 10am and close at 5pm. It is closed on Tuesdays (except public holidays) and the first two days of the Chinese New Year.
