Police conducted a territory-wide operation to promote public light bus (PLB) safety yesterday (December 13). The operation include the deployment of plainclothes officers on board of PLBs to observe the driving manner of the drivers.
A total of 16 operations were mounted. As a result, 77 fixed penalty tickets were issued for various traffic offences, including speeding, allowing passengers alight or on board the vehicles in restricted zone, and driving PLB without seatbelt fastened. Another five summonses were issued to passengers for not wearing seatbelts.
The Police will continue to mount similar operations to promote road safety.
