EDB briefs career masters on E-APP
**********************************

The Education Bureau has arranged a series of briefing sessions this week for career masters of all secondary schools to brief them on the Electronic Advance Application System for Post-secondary Programmes (E-APP).

The E-APP is an internet-based system newly developed by the Education Bureau for this year's Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination and Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education candidates to lodge advance applications for over 400 locally-accredited full-time sub-degree and first degree programmes not covered by the Joint University Programmes Admissions System before the announcement of public examination results.

Students may use the Information Portal for Accredited Post-secondary Programmes (iPASS), which provides the most updated and comprehensive information, to assist with their programme selection and application.

Candidates only need to complete one application in order to apply for multiple programmes. Institutions can have early processing of E-APP applications and may give eligible candidates conditional offers before the announcement of public examination results. The E-APP provides an alternative application platform to supplement those currently offered by individual institutions.

The E-APP will commence on February 9 next year and the deadline for students to submit applications through the E-APP is May 20, 2012. The Education Bureau will launch a series of publicity for the E-APP at the beginning of next year.
