Appointment to Standing Committee on Judicial Salaries and Conditions of Service

     The Chief Executive has appointed Mr Benjamin Yu and re-appointed Mr Chow Chung-kong and Mr Lester Garson Huang as members of the Standing Committee on Judicial Salaries and Conditions of Service (Judicial Committee) for a period of two years with effect from January 1, 2012, a Government spokesman announced today (December 12).

     Miss Jacqueline Pamela Leong, existing member of the Judicial Committee, will retire on December 31 this year. "We would like to thank Miss Leong for her invaluable contributions to the Judicial Committee over the years," the spokesman said.

     The Judicial Committee is tasked with advising and making recommendations to the Chief Executive on matters concerning the salaries and conditions of service of judges and judicial officers.

     The Judicial Committee is chaired by Mr Bernard Chan. Other members of the Judicial Committee are Professor Chan Yuk-shee, Mr Brian Li Man-bun and Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau.
