Medical network helps quake victims from afar

After the earthquake in Sichuan Province in 2008, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government sponsored Sichuan University's West China Hospital to rebuild and expand its long-distance medical network platform to help reach out to patients in rural areas.
The hospital's medical staff described how the platform enables them to provide long-distance consultations to patients living in remote places, and also provide medical training to staff at more than 180 medical institutions. The related feature story appeared today (December 11) in both text and video versions on the news.gov.hk website.
