The Port Control (Public Cargo Working Areas) Order 2011 to decommission the Kwun Tong and Cha Kwo Ling Public Cargo Working Areas (PCWAs) was gazetted today (December 9).
A spokesman for the Transport and Housing Bureau said that the Order, made by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, was to give effect to the decommissioning of the Kwun Tong and Cha Kwo Ling PCWAs, which would make way for the development of Southeast Kowloon including Stage 2 of the Kwun Tong Promenade Development.
He added that all operators previously operating at these PCWAs have moved out and that the PCWAs are now vacant.
The Order will be tabled at the Legislative Council on December 14, and will take effect on February 6, 2012.
