Temporary traffic and transport arrangements in Tuen Mun this Saturday and Sunday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (December 8) reminded the public that temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented from 11pm this Saturday (December 10) to 6am on Sunday (December 11) in Tuen Mun to facilitate the construction works of Yan Ching Bridge on Tuen Mun Road (Town Centre Section).

     The temporary traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:

* Sections of traffic lanes of Tuen Mun Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic in stages from 11pm on December 10 to 1am on December 11.

* The section of Tuen Mun Road northbound between Tuen Hi Road and Pui To Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 12.30am to 6am on December 11.

* The section of Tuen Mun Road southbound between Pui To Road and Tuen Fat Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 1am to 5.30am on December 11

* During the road closure period, motorists are advised to travel via the following roads:
(i) For journeys to Yuen Long, motorists on Tuen Mun Road are advised to travel via Tuen Hing Road, Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road and Pui To Road; and
(ii) For journeys to Kowloon, motorists on Tuen Mun Road are advised to travel via Pui To Road, Castle Peak Road and Tuen Hing Road.

* During the road closure period, the following public transport services will be diverted:
(i) KMB routes: 58M, 58X, 63X, 68A, 260R, 260X, 960 and N260;
(ii) Long Win bus route: N30; and
(iii) Green minibus (GMB) route: 606S

     Notices will be put up at respective stops of franchised buses and GMBs and inside vehicle compartments to inform passengers of the temporary diversions.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation in the vicinity and implement appropriate measures as necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
