Man arrested for murder

     Police arrested a 23-year-old man last night (December 5) in Tuen Mun in suspected connection with a murder in the district early yesterday morning.

     About 1.20am yesterday, Police received reports that an 18-year-old man was wounded by three men with knives on San Sau Street. The victim sustained cut wounds on his chest and legs and was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where he was subsequently certified dead.

     A post-mortem examination will be conducted later today (December 6) to ascertain the cause of his death.

     Meanwhile, officers of Crime Headquarters of New Territories North Region and Tuen Mun Police District, including Regional Crime Unit, Regional Anti-triad Unit and Police Tactical Unit, arrested 16 men aged from 17 to 26 in various locations in Tuen Mun during an anti-crime operation last night. They were in suspected connection with a number of wounding and assault cases earlier in the district.

     All the arrested persons are being detained pending further enquiries.

     Active investigations by Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North Region are underway. Operations are ongoing.
