Temporary shelters at Henry G Leong Yaumatei Community Centre and Mong Kok Community Hall cease operation

     The Yau Tsim Mong District Office, together with the Housing Department and the Lands Department, yesterday (December 4) arranged for 59 households who are from the three buildings seriously affected by the No.4 alarm fire at Fa Yuen Street (188-190, 192-194 and 196-198 Fa Yuen Street) and in need of temporary accommodation to move into the Shek Lei Transit Centre. The temporary shelters at Henry G Leong Yaumatei Community Centre and Mong Kok Community Hall have ceased operation today (December 5).

     Any other residents from the three buildings listed above who have temporary housing needs can approach the Lands Department at 2778 8181. For those who have other welfare needs, please approach the Social Welfare Department at 2343 2255. Any other enquiries can also be made to the Yau Tsim Mong District Office during office hours at 2399 2159.

     A spokesman for the Home Affairs Department said, "We will continue to look after the needs of those affected and provide assistance as appropriate."
