Police appeal for further information in suspected arson in Mong Kok

     Police today (December 4) appeal to the public for further information for the suspected arson case at Fa Yuen Street in Mong Kok on November 30.

     Nine people died and 34 people were injured in the fire. The identity of a deceased was yet to be confirmed.  

     Active investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West are underway. Police have earlier reviewed a footage captured from a CCTV installed in the vicinity and found that two persons walked by the scene shortly before the fire broke out. Police have located one of them, who was an 82-year-old woman.

     After reviewing more CCTV footages, Police today found two other persons had passed by the scene prior to the outbreak of the fire.
     
     Police urge the persons appeared in the footages to come forward. Police also appeal to anyone who has information about the persons and the case to contact the investigating officers on 9022 0072 or 2761 2344.
