Transcript of remarks by Acting SHA on assistance for residents affected by No. 4 alarm fire in Mong Kok
******************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Acting Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Florence Hui, on the assistance for residents affected by the No. 4 alarm fire in Mong Kok at a media stand-up this morning (November 30):

Reporter: Will there be places to house the residents if they can't go inside?

Acting Secretary for Home Affairs: We would open the Mong Kok Community Hall if there would be needy residents to use the centre.

Reporter: What else and how are you helping them?

Acting Secretary for Home Affairs: We are opening up, and have already set up three inter-departmental help desks for needy citizens to use. And secondly, in case tonight the site still could not be re-opened for residents, then the Mong Kok Community Hall will be open to provide a place for them to rest. At present, we have also opened the Boundary Street Sports Centre No 1 so the affected families can start to use the places.

(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the transcript.)
