Public consultation on Community Care Fund launches (with photos)
**********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Community Care Fund Secretariat:

The Education Sub-committee under the Steering Committee on the Community Care Fund (CCF) held a public consultation session today (November 28), launching a new round of public consultation on the Fund.

The Chairman of the Executive Committee on the CCF, Dr Law Chi-kwong, and the Chairman of the Education Sub-committee, Professor Chan Yuk-shee, attended the session to listen to public views.

Since the CCF was set up, the Steering Committee has launched more than 10 assistance programmes under the education, home affairs, medical and welfare areas, benefiting various groups including children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, patients, new arrivals and ethnic minorities.

Dr Law said, "We are considering the next round of assistance programmes, and understand that members of the public have different views and suggestions. The four Sub-committees are therefore holding public consultation sessions to gauge public views on their areas of work, including target beneficiaries and assistance programmes.

"The committees will take into account the experience gained and views collected from various sectors in formulating and launching more programmes, and continue to provide assistance to the underprivileged and low-income families."

The Home Affairs, Medical and Welfare Sub-committees under the CCF will each hold public consultation sessions. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Details are as follows:
