Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yuen Long today (November 26) in which a 56-year-old man died.
About 2.36pm, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) and a bus respectively driven by two men aged 33 and 56 were travelling in sequence along Tsing Long Highway towards Tuen Mun. When approaching near Pok Oi Interchange, the MGV reportedly slowed down due to traffic in front and the bus reportedly hit the MGV.
The 56-year-old male bus driver was once trapped and sustained severe injury to his body. He was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where he was certified dead at 5.05pm. A 26-year-old woman and her 3-year-old son on the bus sustained slight head injuries and were sent to Pok Oi Hospital for medical treatment.
The case will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North Region for investigation.
