The Government announced today (November 25) the re-appointment of six serving members and the appointment of two new members to the Hospital Authority, with effect from December 1, 2011.
Mr Cheng Yan-kee, Mr Benjamin Hung Pi-cheng, Mr Patrick Ma Ching-hang and Ms Yvonne Shing Mo-han have been re-appointed for two years. Dr Joseph Lee Kok-long and Mr John Lee Luen-wai have been re-appointed for one year.
The new members are Mr Andy Lau Kwok-fai and Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee. They have been appointed for two years. Following are brief biographies of the two new members:
Mr Andy Lau Kwok-fai is a partner of a garment manufacturing and trading company. He is currently a member of the Health and Medical Development Advisory Committee and the Steering Committee on eHealth Record Sharing.
Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee is the Vice-Chairman and the Chief Executive of a listed bank. She is now serving as a member of the Commission on Strategic Development and the Council of the University of Hong Kong as well as the Standing Committee on Disciplined Services Salaries and Conditions of Service.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, welcomed the new members to the Authority. He also thanked the outgoing members, Dr Margaret Chung Wai-ling and Ms Queenie Leung Pik-man, for their advice and contributions to the Hospital Authority over the years. They will retire from the Hospital Authority with effect from December 1, 2011.
The Hospital Authority, as from December 1, 2011, will comprise a chairman, 22 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the Hospital Authority. The new membership list is as follows:
