Draft Tai Long Sai Wan Development Permission Area Plan approved
********************************************************

The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Tai Long Sai Wan Development Permission Area (DPA) Plan.

"The approved DPA Plan will provide planning guidance and facilitate development control within the Tai Long Sai Wan area during the period required for detailed analysis of land use pattern, study of infrastructural provisions and examination of development options for the formulation of an outline zoning plan (OZP)," a spokesman for the Town Planning Board said today (November 18).

The planning scheme area covers about 16.55 hectares, comprising the northern and southern parcels. It is completely encircled by Sai Kung East Country Park. To the east is the scenic coastline of Sai Wan.

The general planning intention is to protect the high landscape value of the area which complements the overall naturalness and landscape beauty of the surrounding Sai Kung East Country Park.

The entire area is designated "Unspecified Use", pending detailed analysis and studies to establish the appropriate land uses in the course of preparing an OZP. Any use or development, apart from "Agricultural Use" and some uses which are always permitted, will require planning permission from the Town Planning Board.

The approved Tai Long Sai Wan DPA Plan No. DPA/SK-TLSW/2 is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Sai Kung and Islands District Planning Office, Sai Kung District Office and Sai Kung Rural Committee.

Copies of the approved plan are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb.
