UG Day 2011 at Victoria Park this Saturday welcomes all

     The public can enjoy the performances of 13 local youth uniformed groups (UGs) at the UG Day 2011 to be held at Football Pitches No. 4 to 6 at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, this Saturday (November 19).

     The event is jointly organised by the Home Affairs Bureau and 13 UGs, with the Commission on Youth as the assisting organisation. It aims to enhance the public's understanding of UGs in Hong Kong, encourage youngsters to participate in UGs, display team spirit and promote the value of serving others in the community.

     The event will be held from noon to 5pm and admission is free. A ceremony featuring a parade and band show will be held at noon. A variety of programmes including musical instrument performance, singing, dancing, dragon and lion dances and artistic cycling will also be staged.

     A number of games and exhibition booths will be set up by individual UGs, and free health checks and consultations will be offered to participants.

     The co-organisers of UG Day 2011 are the Civil Aid Service Cadet Corps; the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol; the Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps; the Hong Kong Red Cross; the Boys' Brigade, Hong Kong; the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps; the Auxiliary Medical Service Cadet Corps; the Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade, Cadet Command; the Association of Hong Kong Flag-guards; the Girls' Brigade Hong Kong; the Hong Kong Adventure Corps; the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association; and the Scout Association of Hong Kong.
