     The Government Youth Portal (Youth.gov.hk) launched the "Where is Dr Sun?" smartphone application (app) today (November 16). Incorporated with Augmented Reality (AR) and interactive user experience, the app can guide users on a virtual journey through 30 designated spots related to the history of the 1911 Revolution and Dr Sun Yat-sen in different corners of Hong Kong.

     No matter where users are, the AR function helps them to easily identify the location of spots related to Dr Sun and the 1911 Revolution. Users can also discover if there are spots nearby by setting the searching distance. The app can facilitate users to learn more details about Dr Sun and the 1911 Revolution at anytime and anywhere.

     The special features of the app are highlighted as follows:

* A historical timeline leading to the 1911 Revolution presented in the form of a vintage newspaper;
* An "at a glance guide" to all the historical spots plotted on an online map;
* A virtual tour for exploring all the historic spots through 3D street-view imagery; and
* A fun quiz game whereby players can win medals and share their social networking accounts.

     The "Where is Dr Sun?" app is now available for instant download in the Android Market and on the App Store for free.
