Customs seizes 390 grammes of heroin at Lo Wu (with photos)

     Hong Kong Customs yesterday (November 14) arrested a 26-year-old woman at Lo Wu Control Point after finding 390 grammes of heroin in her possession with an estimated retail value of about $300,000.

     Yesterday afternoon, Customs officers intercepted a female passenger in the customs arrival hall at Lo Wu Control Point. She was searched and the heroin was found concealed beneath the passenger's elasticated pants, close to her abdomen.

     The woman has been charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at Fanling Magistrates' Court tomorrow (November 16).

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
