The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
Regarding the meeting today (November 10) between the Hospital Chief Executive of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) and the parents of Cheung Yui-ting to explain the content of the overseas expert report, the Hospital Authority (HA) made the following statement:
HA Head Office has received the overseas expert report from TMH and will ensure that the hospital would study the report in detail and follow up with the recommendations. We fully understand the grief brought to the parents and family in the tragic incident. We would like to express again our deepest condolences to the family and ensure that TMH would continue to offer whatever assistance and support required.
The HA has earlier written to the Coroner to request for a hearing of the case as early as possible. The HA and TMH will facilitate the inquest, if it was decided to be conducted, by providing all the necessary information.
