SFST visits Beijing

     The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, will leave for Beijing tomorrow (November 11) to attend "2011 Caixin Summit: China and the World" and meet with senior financial officials to discuss issues of mutual concern.

     Professor Chan will deliver a speech at a session of the 2011 Caixin Summit titled "Who will solve the debt crisis?" in the afternoon at the China World Summit Wing, Beijing. The theme of this year's two-day summit is "Strategising Sustainable Growth". It will bring together political, business and academic leaders from around the world to exchange views on the global economy.

     Professor Chan will then lead a Hong Kong delegation comprising representatives from the insurance and investment fund sectors to meet with officials from the People's Bank of China, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission, the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council respectively on November 14.

     The Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Financial Services), Miss Au King-chi will join the delegation.

     Professor Chan will return to Hong Kong that evening.
