Following is a transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, at the counting station at Wong Nai Chung Sports Centre, Happy Valley last night (November 6):

Reporter: Mr Tsang, are you happy with the high turnout rate?

Chief Executive: Well......I am delighted with the turnout rate. It is clearly higher than most of the forecasts in the past week. It truly reflects that Hong Kong people support the work of District Council and today are participating actively in the election process. This is a clear sign for advancement in democracy. Thank you very much.
