SCMA tours polling stations of District Council election (with photos)

     The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, and other officials of the Bureau visited various polling stations of the District Council election today (November 6) to observe their operations.

     Mr Tam cast vote at St Stephen's Girls' Primary School, Park Road in the morning. He then inspected two dedicated polling stations in Tai Lam Correctional Institution, Tai Lam Chung and the Hong Kong Police Lei Muk Shue Police Operational Base, Kwai Chung. The dedicated polling stations are set up for electors in custody of the Correctional Services Department and law enforcement agencies.

     In the afternoon, Mr Tam went on to visit the Pok Hong Community Hall polling station in Sha Tin; the Fat Kwong Street Sports Centre polling station in Ho Man Tin; and the Mission Covenant Church Holm Glad Primary School polling station in Kwun Tong. During the visits, he saw for himself the operation of the polling stations and chatted with the staff members to understand their work.

     In addition, the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Joshua Law, visited the QE School Old Students' Association Branch Primary School polling station in Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long and the Causeway Bay Community Centre polling station in Causeway Bay this afternoon. Separately, the Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Miss Adeline Wong, also visited the Tang Shiu Kin Victoria Government Secondary School polling station in Wan Chai and the SWCS Chan Pak Sha School polling station in Wong Chuk Hang.
