Fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei this morning (November 5) in which a 59-year-old man died.

     About 0.00 am, a private car driven by a 22-year-old man was travelling northbound of Lin Cheung Road. When approaching Jordon Road, the private car reportedly lost control and knocked down a 59-year-old man, who was working on the carriageway and then rammed into a Light Goods Vehicle parked on the carriageway. Another 24-year-old male worker on the carriageway was also injured.

     The private car driver and two workers were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The 59-year-old male worker, who sustained serious injuries, was later certified dead at 00.36 am.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are under way.
