Customs seizes 6.8kg of ketamine (with photo)

     Hong Kong Customs seized a total of 6.8 kilogrammes of ketamine with an estimated retail value of $800,000 in an anti-narcotics operation in Tai Po yesterday (November 3). Two men, aged 20 and 43, were arrested.

     At around 6pm yesterday, officers of the Customs Drug Investigation Bureau intercepted the two suspicious men for inspection in a toilet at a shopping mall in Tai Po, and found the ketamine in two bags carried by them.

     The two men have been charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at Fanling Magistrates' Court tomorrow (November 5).

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
