Founded in 1982, the Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra is administered under the Hong Kong Symphony Society. The orchestra offers a wide-ranging repertoire from classical chamber music to popular film music thanks to the recruitment of some of the best musicians - both professional and amateur - available in Hong Kong. The orchestra has staged a great variety of concerts over the years, including the "East Meets West" jazz concert, the "Children's Story Time" family concert, "A Musical Salute to Beautiful Nature", "A Hard Day's Night", "Joe Hisaishi and Hayao Miyazaki - The Animation Symphony" and "The Orchestra's Holiday".
