The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (November 4) reminded the public that auctions for stalls at the 2012 Lunar New Year (LNY) fairs in Victoria Park (Eastern District) on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon would start next Wednesday (November 9).
The Victoria Park LNY Fair accommodates 180 wet goods stalls, 284 dry goods stalls, eight thematic stalls and three fast food stalls for bidding.
For the four LNY fairs at Fa Hui Park and Cheung Sha Wan Playground in Sham Shui Po, Morse Park in Wong Tai Sin and Hong Ning Road Recreation Ground in Kwun Tong, there will be a total of 322 wet goods stalls, 240 dry goods stalls and eight fast food stalls.
All auctions for the stalls in both Victoria Park and Kowloon will be held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, 18 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai. The auction sessions are scheduled from 9am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 4.45pm.

Bidders for LNY fair stalls must be at least 18 years old and ordinary residents in Hong Kong.
Anyone can bid for more than one stall. A bidder must pay the bid price and register in his or her own name as the licensee of the stall immediately after successfully bidding for a stall.
The bidder is also required to sign at once an express warranty and a licence agreement with the FEHD, or will forfeit the rights to operate the stall, and the stall concerned will be re-auctioned immediately.
An FEHD spokesman said that successful bidders shall comply with all the stipulations and provisions as set out in the licence agreement. Otherwise, the department is entitled to terminate the agreement and the licensee shall immediately vacate the stall.
Details of the 2012 LNY fairs, such as the public notice, location and layout of the fair venues, commodities allowed for sale at the fair stalls, open auction arrangements and related rules, and samples of the licence agreement and express warranty are available at the FEHD website (www.fehd.gov.hk).
