The Eurasian Wigeon is a common winter migrant to Hong Kong and can be easily seen on the mudflats in the Wetland Park. This duck has a dumpy figure and often swims in groups. The Eurasian Wigeon has a dull plumage when it first arrives at the wintering ground. But as spring approaches, the males change into breeding plumage - the feathers on its head and neck turn reddish brown, while those on its forehead turn milky yellow.
