Dogs can be effective partners in curbing crime. Jed, a quarantine detector dog working for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, plies the boundary-control points to sniff out the raw meat and poultry that travellers try to bring into Hong Kong illegally.
Customs detector dog Willow can distinguish eight types of common illicit drugs and has helped Customs and Excise Department officers uncover 11 drug-trafficking cases.
