Road improvement works to Kam Pok Road - Man Yuen Chuen Section gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (October 28) on proposed road works to the Kam Pok Road - Man Yuen Chuen Section, serving to improve the private section of Kam Pok Road in front of Man Yuen Chuen.

     The proposed works include:

(a) conversion of a private section of Kam Pok Road in front of Man Yuen Chuen into a single two-lane carriageway with associated footpaths and run-ins;

(b) construction of cautionary crossings, parking spaces for private cars, light goods vehicles and motor cycles, and a loading and unloading area;

(c) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing carriageway into footpath;

(d) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing footpaths into carriageway;

(e) temporary closure and reconstruction of a section of the existing carriageway and sections of the existing footpaths; and

(f) ancillary works including drainage, water supplies, landscaping works and provision of lighting.

     The works are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2012 and be completed in the first quarter of 2014.

     The plan and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or their use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong, on or before December 27, 2011.
