The Government today (October 28) announced the appointment of Mr Samuel Chan Ka-yan and Professor Michael Hui King-man as well as the re-appointment of Mr Fred Li Wah-ming as members to the Consumer Council for a term of two years with effect from November 1, 2011.
"We are delighted that the two new members and an incumbent member have accepted the appointment. We are confident that their experience and expertise will be invaluable to the work of the Council in promoting consumer interests," a Government spokesman said.
The spokesman said incumbent council members Mr Joe Lai Wing-ho and Ms Wong Ka-chi would retire from the Council on October 31. "We would like to express our gratitude to Mr Lai and Ms Wong for their contribution to the Council's work in past years," he said.
The appointment notice was published in the Gazette today.
